“We were the lucky ones” — The Psychology of Child Survivors, hosted by the Sousa Mendes Foundation.
KTA Executive Director Melissa Hacker, whose mother was a Kindertransport child from Vienna, and KTA member Rachel Dahill-Fuchel, whose father, Kurt Fuchel was a Kind from Vienna and a past President of the KTA, will participate in a panel discussion, and all registered attendees will have a chance to view Melissa’s pioneering film, My Knees Were Jumping; Remembering the Kindertransports, which was screened at the Sundance Film Festival and short-listed for Academy Award nomination. This film looks at the psychology of the child survivors and the transmission of memory from one generation to the next.

“Ms. Hacker has created a film of exceptional depth and resonance.” Robert Sklar, The Forward
