Event Type

In commemoration of National Poetry Month and Yom Hashoah, the KTA invites all generations to share your Holocaust themed poems and prose in an “open-mic” zoom gathering at 2:00 EST, 11:00 PST, on Sunday, April 23. Also featured will be Stewart Florsheim, poet, who will read from his “Ghosts of the Holocaust: an anthology of Poetry by the Second Generation.” In the forward to the collection, Gerald Stern wrote “It is not that we will either forget or reclaim those years because of these poems, it is not that the poems will even make the past bearable. It is that, in our greatest loss, we have victory.” Stewart is the son of a Holocaust survivor and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. He has been widely published in magazines and anthologies. His new collection Amusing the Angels won the Blue Light Book Award in 2022.

The event is open to KTA members only.
