Ed Benedikt, a Maine resident, was only 8 years old when Ed and his 15 year old sister, Lucie, left Austria on a Kindertransport in December of 1938. Ed’s parents were able to leave Austria in 1941 and Ed and his sister joined them in the United States in 1943. In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the first Kindertransport, Ed will be sharing his story.
