Cleveland resident Beth Darmstadter provided opening remarks March 9 at the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s showing of an exhibit that included her Holocaust survivor father Joel Darmstadter’s journey to safety as part of the Kindertransport or children’s transport where 10,000 Jewish children’s lives were saved by being transported to the United Kingdom from Nazi Germany. His story, told in pictures, also shows his and his family’s life after he escaped to freedom.
