The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce fifteen libraries selected to host the traveling exhibition World on the Move: 250,000 Years of Human Migration, developed by the American Anthropological Association and the Smithsonian’s Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
The 15 public libraries will host the exhibit for a five-or six-week period from March 2023 through August 2025.
World on the Move aims to help people appreciate migration histories — their own and those of others — by drawing on a wealth of case studies from across human history and the breadth of cultures.
The libraries, selected through a competitive application process, will work with community partners to present programs and events to accompany the exhibition. Fourteen states are represented. View the list of selected sites.
The Kindertransport is included through the story of KIndertransportee (and longtime KTA member) Joel Darmstadter. His story, told in pictures, shows his and his family’s in Germany and life after he escaped to freedom on a Kindertransport to the United Kingdom..
