SUMMARY:KTA Books and More Talk with Laura Nathan
DESCRIPTION:Laura Nathan is a contemporary textile artist based in Manchest
 er\, England who works with archives\, inherited objects\, and symbolic ma
 terials. Being the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors has shaped who she
  is\, and she focuses on how we uncover\, process and share difficult hist
 ories. In 2023 Laura was awarded Arts Council England funding for her proj
 ect “Engaging with Inherited Archives.” Through this\, she developed t
 echnical\, conceptual and research-based skills when working with archives
  within her textiles practice.\n\nIn 2024\, Laura illustrated the childhoo
 d memories of Kindertransportee Hanna Zack Miley\, and these pieces featur
 e in a documentary based on Hanna’s life planned for release in 2025. La
 ura is currently an artist in residence at the Holocaust Centre North\, En
 gland. Here she is exploring the centre’s archives and working alongside
  the survivor community and their families. This work will culminate in an
  exhibition in June 2025.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;
