SUMMARY:KTA Book talk: The Light Between the Rails
DESCRIPTION:Escaping the Darkness of Nazi Europe on the Kindertransport wit
h Margot Lobree and Laurie Schaefer.\n\nOne suitcase. One train. One mothe
r’s impossible choice. At thirteen\, Margot Lobree stood on a crowded pl
atform in Frankfort with a single suitcase. The Kindertransport would save
her – but at a cost she wouldn’t fully understand until adulthood. In
England\, Margot learned about a new country and a new courage\, moved th
rough fear and air-raid sirens\, found friendship and work\, and grew up f
ar from everyone she loved.\n\nDecades later\, she would become a beloved
voice for students across North Carolina – the first Holocaust survivor
in the state to Zoom into dozens of classrooms the day after turning ninet
 y-nine – telling a story of separation\, resilience\, and the quiet scar
s of a stolen adolescence.\n\nIn The Light Between the Rails\,through long
conversations at Margot’s kitchen table\, Laurie helps to bring Margot's
story to life.\n\nMargot Lobree\, who just turned 101 years old\, is a Ho
locaust survivor\, educator\, and speaker whose life story reflects both p
rofound loss and extraordinary resilience.\n\nLaurie Schaefer is an educat
or\, writer\, and Holocaust education leader. She serves as Chair of the N
orth Carolina Council on the Holocaust and Executive Director of Women of
the Shoah.\n\nJoin Margot and Laurie as they share Margot’s story and ho
w they came to write this book. Hosted by KT2 Margot Kelman.\n\nTo registe
