Kindertransport Florida Chanukah Lunch

AJR Kristallnacht Memorial

Sir Peter Bazalgette, chair of the UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation and Kind Leslie Brent will speak. Memorial candles will be lit. Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg will officiate.

Nicky's Family Film screening

The Fifth Avenue Synagogue (FAS) Women's Club hosts a screening of Nicky's Family, and KTA member Helga Shepard will speak after the film.

Fifth Avenue Synagogue, a prominent modern Orthodox synagogue, is located at 5 East 62nd Street (north side of the street), which is between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue on the east side of Manhattan, NYC.

Running for Their Lives: Voices of Child Refugees

In February 1939,U.S. Congress killed the Wagner-Rogers Bill to provide refuge to 20,000 endangered Jewish children.Laura Delano Houghteling, wife of U.S. Commissioner of Immigration & cousin of FDR, said “Twenty thousand charming children would all too soon grow up into twenty thousand ugly adults.”This prejudice and heartlessness has been similarly expressed about the unaccompanied children from Central America who have recently sought safety in the U.S.
